Coaching for High Performance Teams
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has”. –Margaret Mead
We’re Experts at Unlocking Potential
Cross-functional teams are the core unit of innovation, progress and competitive advantage in most companies and institutions. In our complex, increasingly specialized world, not only does it take teams of complementary specialists to address issues, it is a truism that they must coalesce and work cohesively if there is any chance of effectively identifying, understanding and innovating through increasingly complex challenges.
At Charles River Careers, we’re experts at discovering and unlocking team potential.
We do this by coaching teams, and team leaders, through all phases of the team lifecycle, including formation, goal setting, team building, norming, roles and responsibility, communication and team listening.
Every Team is Unique
We believe every team is unique. They are assembled in the context of unique individuals and bring together, either temporarily or for longer periods, the talents, expectations, hopes, biases, and personalities that are unique to each of their members.
When teams are stuck, we see our role as a guide that works alongside the team to help it perform better, listen, and help it adapt to changing circumstances and new information.
We seek to understand the larger business context, organizational mission and how the team both interprets and embodies these aims in their practice and style.
We listen attentively to stakeholders, team leaders and members, seeking to understand their interpretation of the team’s mission, roles and personal hopes and expectations.
We provide reflection for members so they can better see their communication style and how it is either beneficial or, in some cases, detrimental or confusing to others.

We Believe in Transformation
We approach all team engagements with a belief in the power of positive change and forward-looking transformation.
We work with teams to define, refine, and then align around shared goals, building a robust common vision. We work to understand team member hopes, and thoughts about great outcomes, conditions for success, and the factors which make teams a source of energy, achievement, and fun!
We dig deep to understand core issues, blocks, conflicts, and hidden resentments that are affecting progress, diminishing innovation and blocking impact. We work with members to identify, understand, and let go of miscommunications and style differences that limit team performance.
Finally, we work with leaders to develop the communication, procedural, and listening skills that are necessary to perform at the highest levels.
Great Teams Can Change the World
The wisdom of Margaret Mead has remained true through the decades; small groups of committed people can change the world.
But we also know that the ingredients for greatness need to be nurtured. Teams have their own dynamics, pressures, and challenges. They get stuck, confused, adrift and off-track.
At Charles River Careers, we know the ingredients for team success. We’re experts at helping teams navigate the road to renewal, motivation, and sustained success.
Yes, great teams can change the world. And we’re here to make sure they do.
