We’re Experts at Deep Listening

Team & Organizational Assessments | Positive Paths Forward

Organizational & Team Assessments

At Charles River Careers we’re experts at listening. No matter how complicated your issue, we step back and help you see the forest through the trees. We do this with respect and dignity for all involved. Whether it’s a leader, team, group, or institution, we’re here to help.

How We Work

Our organization assessments are designed to evaluate complicated, and often-times urgent, team, leadership, and/or institutional issues.

We do this through a combination of 1:1 listening sessions, 360 assessments, and interactions with stakeholders – which all lead to tangible recommendations and positive paths forward.

We conduct sessions either on-site or by remote video, and prior to meeting, first engage stakeholders to frame broader institutional goals, the current business context, and other challenges motivating the need for change.

We take the time that’s needed to listen, interpret, and reflect on subtle, and often challenging, interpersonal and organizational issues.

We then re-frame issues in the context of common goals and recommend positive paths forward that can be contrasted and gauged for impact.

Deep Listening

We’re experts at listening with intent.

We appreciate the pressures of the corporate and non-profit world: the pace of change is accelerating, complexity is growing, things that used to be disparate are now integrated, and the specialization abounds. Leadership styles that worked in the past must now be more nuanced, employees are searching for purpose, and competitive pressures, both internal and external, are real.

It has never been more important that leaders be self-aware and teams be aligned, self-adjusting and innovative. Misunderstandings, differences in expectations, confusion about roles, and normal human biases can lead to frustration, resentment and lost potential.

As an outside resource, we offer high-trust conditions that allow people to be heard. We listen to all involved focusing not only on the big picture but the themes that are relevant to the individual. We listen with intent in an unbiased, respectful way.

We listen for the deeper organizational wisdom embodied in individual perspectives.

Options for Positive Outcomes

We focus on positive change.

By understanding organizational context, and with insights gained from 1:1 listening, we formulate options that address identified challenges building on common ground and existing strengths and talents.

Whether it’s individualized leadership coaching, team building, transitional team support, or framing a path to a common vision, we recommend options that are actionable, achievable and tractable for the people involved.

In all cases, we focus on positive outcomes with a bias towards what’s possible if we start anew. As possibility thinkers, we frame options in the context of a fresh start, unbiased thinking, and in the context of a fundamental belief in the innate human capacity for creativity, resiliency and beginner’s mind.
